The best baby shower locations in Los Angeles share three things: shade or shelter for guests of every age, easy parking, and a setting that photographs beautifully without much decoration. A private garden venue ticks all three, and it lets you bring your own caterer and drinks instead of buying a package. Here is how we would choose a place, what to budget, and where our own grounds in Valley Village fit.
What to look for in a baby shower location
A baby shower is a gentle, daytime kind of party. Guests range from the mother-to-be's grandmother to toddlers, so comfort matters more than spectacle. Before you tour anything, decide on four basics.
- Guest count. Count both the people who will certainly come and the "maybes". A venue that comfortably holds more than you expect never feels empty, while a cramped one feels stressful.
- Time of day. Most showers run in the late morning or afternoon. Outdoor spaces need shade, and it helps to have an indoor option if the weather turns.
- Food and drink. Some venues require you to buy their food and beverage package. Others let you hire any caterer, which gives you far more control over both the menu and the bill.
- Accessibility and parking. Expectant mothers and older relatives should not have to walk far. Ask how many cars fit nearby and whether ride-share drop-off is easy.
Write these four answers down before you contact anyone. They will narrow the long list of Los Angeles options very quickly.
Types of baby shower venues in Los Angeles
Los Angeles offers a wider range than most cities, and each type suits a different shower.
Restaurants and tea rooms
Private dining rooms are convenient because food, tables and cleanup are handled for you. The trade-off is less freedom: set menus, set hours and little room for games, a gift table and decorations.
Public parks and gardens
Parks are inexpensive and pretty, but they usually come with permit rules, no guaranteed shade and shared restrooms. They work for casual showers with a small guest list.
Event halls and banquet rooms
Halls give you space and air conditioning, though they can feel generic. You will often need to bring in or pay for every decoration.
Private homes and garden venues
A private estate or garden venue feels like a celebration at a friend's home, only larger. You get character, outdoor space and, in many cases, the freedom to bring your own caterer. This is the category our manor belongs to.

What a baby shower really costs
Venue price is only one line in the budget. Plan for the space, food and drinks, tables and chairs, decorations, insurance where required, and a little room for surprises. The most useful thing you can do is ask each venue for a full list of extra charges, because the headline rental fee rarely tells the whole story.
Our own pricing is simple to explain. Events at the manor are priced by guest count: $4,200 for up to 50 guests, $5,400 for 50 to 75 guests, and $6,600 for 75 to 100 guests (new pricing as of October 2026). That includes five hours at the venue plus two hours of setup. Extra hours are $300 each, and every event ends by 10pm. Because you bring your own caterer and your own drinks, there is no required food and beverage package pushing the total higher.
A few add-ons are worth knowing about: cleaning is $300, there is a refundable $250 security deposit, tables are $8 each, tablecloths are $10 each, battery lanterns or candles are $2, heaters are $75 each, a microphone is $25, and a cooler is $20. Chairs come from an outside rental vendor, and Georgia shares contacts. One-day event insurance naming Georgia Durante and The Enchanted Manor is required, and it typically averages between $66 and $124.
Planning the shower itself
Once the place is chosen, the rest falls into a rhythm. Here is the order we suggest to hosts.
- Lock the date and venue first. Popular weekends fill early, so book before you print invitations.
- Choose a caterer who understands daytime parties. Light grazing tables, brunch spreads and dessert displays suit a shower far better than a heavy plated dinner.
- Plan two or three activities, not ten. A gift-opening moment, one game and a toast are plenty. Guests want time to talk.
- Think about the little guests. If children are invited, give them somewhere to be: a quiet corner, a few toys, or a playhouse.
- Arrange a place for gifts and cards. A single table near the entrance saves a lot of confusion later.

Why a garden venue suits a baby shower
There is a reason so many hosts end up outdoors. Fresh air keeps a crowd relaxed, natural light flatters every photograph, and guests naturally drift between conversation groups instead of sitting in rows. The challenge is finding a garden that has enough structure to feel like a venue and enough softness to feel like a celebration.
A baby shower also benefits from a setting that photographs without effort. You will want pictures of the guest of honor, the cake, the gift table and the group. When the backdrop is already beautiful, the photographer has less to fix and you have less to buy.
Where The Enchanted Manor fits
The Enchanted Manor sits at 5235 Goodland Avenue in Valley Village, on a quiet cul-de-sac minutes from the 101 and 405. The grounds cover more than 18,000 square feet, so a shower can spread out without feeling crowded. We host up to 100 guests, and baby showers are one of the celebrations we welcome, alongside birthdays, baptisms, engagement parties and anniversaries.

For a shower, the spaces guests tend to love are the thatched gazebo bar with its refrigerator, sink and barbecue, the dining spots under the palapas and the great tree, the private patio with its outdoor fireplace and plush couches, and the brick courtyard near the cottage. The front of the property, with its brick path, stone archway and large arched wooden doors, is a natural place for the first photographs of the day.
Younger relatives have their own corner too. The children's playhouse is a miniature version of the main house, with two twin beds, a fireplace and cable TV. As one guest, Malaya G., wrote, "My kids didn't want to get out of the pool. They loved the secret room behind the book case." Another, Mirela R., described the grounds this way: "It is not a back yard but an oasis."
Parking is straightforward. We can fit 12 to 15 cars on the cul-de-sac, plus open street parking, and we recommend Uber or Lyft for events because valet does not work well here. For sound, we have a house system and a wireless microphone, which is handy for a toast. We do not allow DJs.
If friends or family are coming from out of town, there is a special rate for guests at The Mariposa hotel, one block away. And if you want the whole experience, you can read about staying with us at our Inn.
