Best Baby Shower Venues in Los Angeles: Planning Guide

The best baby shower venues in Los Angeles are the ones that feel personal: a private space where guests can relax, the parents-to-be can actually talk to people, and you control the food, the drinks and the timing. For most showers of 20 to 100 guests, that means looking beyond restaurant back rooms toward private gardens, estates and homes that host events. Below we share the planning numbers and questions we walk families through at The Enchanted Manor, our private event venue in Valley Village.

What makes a great baby shower venue in Los Angeles

Before you compare venues, decide what kind of shower you are throwing. A relaxed afternoon garden party, a formal sit-down luncheon and a co-ed backyard barbecue all need different spaces. Once you know the feel, these are the criteria that matter most:

  • Privacy. A shower is emotional and personal. A venue where you have the space to yourselves, rather than sharing a dining room with strangers, makes a big difference to how it feels.
  • Comfort for the guest of honor. Shade, plenty of seating, a cool place to rest and a restroom nearby matter more than anything on a mood board.
  • Flexibility on food and drinks. Many venues require their own catering or beverage packages. Venues that let you bring your own caterer and beverages often save hosts a lot and let you serve exactly what the family loves.
  • Room for activities. Gift opening, games, a photo spot, a dessert table and somewhere for children to play all need space.
  • Easy access. Grandparents and pregnant guests appreciate short walks, simple parking and a location that is not an hour's drive from everyone.
  • Clear, all-in pricing. Ask for every fee up front: rental, cleaning, deposits, rentals, insurance and overtime.

Types of baby shower venues in LA, and who they suit

Restaurant private rooms

Good for smaller, simpler showers where you want food handled for you. The trade-offs are usually a food and beverage minimum, fixed menus, limited decorating and a set end time. They work well for a quick brunch-style gathering.

Hotel event rooms and tea rooms

Polished and predictable, often with in-house catering. They can feel a little formal and generic, and costs rise quickly with per-person catering.

Parks and public gardens

Beautiful and budget-friendly, but you will usually need permits, you will be sharing the space with the public, and you have to plan around restrooms, shade, parking and what happens if the weather turns.

Private homes, gardens and estates

This is where many of the most memorable Los Angeles showers happen. You get privacy, a sense of being welcomed into someone's home, and usually far more freedom over food, drinks and decor. The key is choosing a property that is set up to host events properly, with insurance requirements, parking guidance and a host who knows the logistics.

If you are also planning a first birthday down the line, our guide to birthday party venues in Los Angeles uses the same checklist and is worth bookmarking.

Baby shower budget: real numbers to plan with

Baby shower budgets vary enormously, so rather than guess at what other venues charge, here is a worked example using our own published rates, so you can see how the pieces of a private venue budget fit together. At The Enchanted Manor, event pricing is:

Guest countVenue rental
Up to 50 guests$4,200
50 to 75 guests$5,400
75 to 100 guests$6,600

That includes five hours for your event plus two hours of setup time. Extra hours are $300 each, and events end by 10pm. Because you bring your own caterer and your own beverages, there are no costly venue food and beverage packages on top.

The other line items to budget for, with our figures as a reference:

  • Cleaning: $300
  • Refundable security deposit: $250
  • Tables: $8 each, and tablecloths $10 each
  • Chairs: rented from an outside vendor (we share contacts)
  • Battery lanterns or candles: $2 each
  • Patio heaters: $75 each, useful for cooler evenings
  • Microphone rental: $25, handy for toasts and games
  • Cooler: $20
  • One-day event insurance: required, and averages around $66 to $124

Then add your own caterer, drinks, cake or dessert table, flowers and decor. When you compare venues, line up the full cost of each option side by side, including food minimums, rather than the headline rental fee alone. A venue with a lower rental but a required per-person menu can end up costing more than one where you bring your own caterer.

Planning timeline and questions to ask every venue

Most families start looking two to four months before the shower, and earlier if the date falls on a popular weekend. A simple timeline:

  1. Three to four months out: set the guest count and budget, shortlist venues, and visit your top two.
  2. Two to three months out: book the venue, the caterer and any rentals; arrange event insurance.
  3. Six to eight weeks out: send invitations and set up the registry link.
  4. Two weeks out: confirm final numbers, the run of show and who handles setup and cleanup.
  5. The week of: confirm deliveries, arrival times and parking instructions for guests.

Questions to ask any venue before you sign:

  • How many hours are included, and how much is setup time?
  • Can we bring our own caterer and our own drinks?
  • What is the full list of additional charges?
  • What do you provide, and what do we rent separately?
  • Is there shade, indoor space or heaters if the weather changes?
  • Where do guests park, and is rideshare easier?
  • Is there a sound system for toasts and music?
  • Is insurance required, and what does it need to name?

Why families choose The Enchanted Manor for baby showers

We host all kinds of events here: birthdays, engagement parties, anniversaries, reunions, baptisms, weddings, children's parties and, very often, baby showers. Georgia Durante spent 25 years remodelling her home into the manor, and she lives on the property, so every celebration is hosted by someone who knows every corner of it.

The setting does a lot of the decorating for you. The front of the manor has a storybook brick path, a stone archway and large arched wooden doors, which make a natural spot for photos as guests arrive. Behind the house, more than 18,000 square feet of grounds wrap around a saltwater grotto pool with three waterfalls, a thatched gazebo bar with a refrigerator, sink and barbecue, a tri-level deck, a lava-rock fire pit, and fairy lights in the trees. There is a children's playhouse, a mini version of the main house, and a tree house, so younger guests have somewhere magical to explore.

Practical details that matter for showers:

  • Up to 100 guests, from an intimate group to the whole extended family.
  • Bring your own caterer and beverages. Georgia is happy to recommend caterers, and a bartender can work under the caterer's license.
  • House sound system with a wireless mic for toasts, games and gift opening (no DJs).
  • Parking for 12 to 15 cars on the cul-de-sac plus open street parking; for larger showers we recommend guests use Uber or Lyft.
  • Easy to reach from the 101 and 405, and from Burbank and LAX airports for family flying in. Out-of-town guests get a special rate at The Mariposa hotel one block away.

As one host, Shannon, told us, "Our guests were blown away and kept asking... how did you find this place?!" And Mirela R. put it simply: "It is not a back yard but an oasis."
