Local Bridal Shower Venues: A Planning Guide With Prices

The best local bridal shower venues match three things: your guest count, how hands-on you want to be with food and drink, and the feeling the bride will love, whether that is a polished restaurant lunch or a relaxed afternoon in a garden. For most hosts, the shortlist comes down to restaurant private rooms, tea rooms and hotels for convenience, or a private home or estate for space, privacy and personality. If you are in Los Angeles and want a garden setting where you can bring your own caterer and drinks, The Enchanted Manor in Valley Village hosts private events for up to 100 guests.

Start with the guest list, then the vibe

Everything about a shower venue flows from your head count. Before you tour anywhere, get a realistic number from the bride and the wedding party, then add a small buffer for plus-ones and late additions.

  • Intimate showers of close friends and family fit comfortably in a restaurant private room, a tea room or a living room.
  • Mid-size showers that include both sides of the family, co-workers and friends start to need a real event space, with room to mingle, a gift table and somewhere to sit for games.
  • Large, party-style showers with partners invited, music and a full meal behave like a small reception and need a venue built for gatherings.

Next, picture the afternoon. Is it a garden tea party, a poolside brunch, an evening cocktail shower or a themed celebration? The vibe will narrow your list quickly: a tea party wants florals and daylight, an evening shower wants lighting and a bar, and a co-ed shower wants space to spread out.

Types of local bridal shower venues compared

Venue typeBest forWatch out for
Restaurant private roomSmall, low-effort showers with food handledFood and drink minimums, time limits, little room for decor or games
Tea room or caféDaytime tea-party themesLimited capacity and set menus
Hotel event roomOut-of-town guests, all-weather plansIn-house catering packages, generic rooms
Family homeFree and personalSpace, parking and the host doing all the work and clean-up
Private estate or garden venueMemorable setting, flexibility on food and drinkRentals and insurance to arrange, outdoor weather planning

None of these is wrong. A restaurant is easiest; a private estate gives you the most freedom and the most memorable photos. The right answer depends on your budget, how much the hosts want to manage, and how special the bride wants the day to feel.

What a bridal shower venue really costs

When comparing venues, look past the headline price and add up the full cost of the day. The biggest swing factor is food and drink.

  • Venue fee or minimum spend. Restaurants and hotels often fold the venue into a food and beverage minimum. Private venues usually charge a flat rental fee.
  • Catering and drinks. At venues with in-house packages, this can quietly become the largest line item. Venues that let you bring your own caterer and beverages give you far more control.
  • Rentals. Tables, chairs, linens, heaters and lighting may be included or extra.
  • Staff. Servers, bartenders and someone to manage clean-up.
  • Insurance and deposits. Many private venues ask for one-day event insurance and a refundable security deposit.
  • Time. Check how many hours are included, whether setup time counts, and what an extra hour costs.

To give you real numbers, here is how our pricing works at The Enchanted Manor: private events for up to 50 guests are $4,200, 50 to 75 guests are $5,400, and 75 to 100 guests are $6,600. That includes five hours of event time plus two hours of setup, with ceremony-style moments on the grounds included. You bring your own caterer and your own liquor and beverages, so there is no costly venue food and beverage package. Additional items are simple: cleaning $300, a refundable security deposit of $250, tables $8 each, tablecloths $10 each, heaters $75 each, battery lanterns or candles $2, a cooler $20, microphone rental $25, and extra hours at $300 each. Event insurance is required and averages about $66 to $124.

Questions to ask every venue before you book

  1. What is the maximum guest count, and how does the space feel at our number?
  2. How many hours are included, and is setup and breakdown time extra?
  3. Can we bring our own caterer, cake, alcohol and decorations?
  4. What is included: tables, chairs, linens, sound, lighting, heaters?
  5. Is there a backup plan for weather if the shower is outdoors?
  6. Where do guests park, and how easy is it to get a rideshare?
  7. Is event insurance required, and what does the deposit cover?
  8. What time does the event need to end, and are there noise rules?

Asking these up front avoids surprise fees and helps you compare venues fairly.

Why a private garden estate makes a memorable shower

A bridal shower is one of the few wedding events that is all about the bride and the people closest to her. A private setting lets the afternoon unfold at its own pace: no other diners at the next table, no waiter hurrying the check, no shared spaces. You can set a long table under the trees, open gifts by the fire, play games on the lawn and take photos somewhere that does not look like a restaurant.

That is the feeling we built our events around. Our home sits on a quiet cul-de-sac in Valley Village with more than 18,000 square feet of grounds. Guests walk up a brick path through the front gardens to a stone archway and large arched wooden doors, then step into a back garden with a saltwater grotto pool and three waterfalls, thatched palapas, a gazebo bar with a refrigerator, sink and barbecue, a lava-rock fire pit and an outdoor fireplace on a private patio with plush couches. As evening falls, fairy lights in the trees and pool lights in nine colours take over.

"Our guests were blown away and kept asking... how did you find this place?!" — Shannon, who hosted at the manor

Showers are one of the many celebrations we host, alongside engagement parties, baby showers, birthdays, anniversaries, reunions and weddings. If you are planning more than one event this year, our baby shower venues guide and birthday party venues guide use the same planning approach.

Planning a shower at The Enchanted Manor

A few practical notes from us, so you can plan with confidence:

  • Food and drink: Georgia is happy to recommend caterers, but you hire your own. A bartender can work under your caterer's license.
  • Rentals: Tables and chairs come from an outside rental vendor, and Georgia shares her contacts.
  • Music: We have a house sound system and a wireless mic, which is perfect for toasts and shower games. DJs are not permitted.
  • Timing: Events must end by 10pm, so an afternoon or early evening shower works beautifully.
  • Getting here: We are minutes from the 101 and 405. There is parking for 12 to 15 cars on the cul-de-sac plus open street parking, and we recommend Uber or Lyft for guests.
  • Staying over: The bride and her closest friends can stay at the Inn on the property, our vacation rental for up to six guests, and out-of-town guests get a special rate at The Mariposa hotel one block away.
