Where Can I Rent a Pool for a Party? 4 Options

If you are asking where you can rent a pool for a party, you have four real options: a public or community pool, a hotel or resort, a private home offered by its owner, or an estate that is set up for events. The right one depends on your guest count, whether alcohol is involved, and how much you want to control the day. Below we explain how each works and what to ask before you pay a deposit.

The four places to rent a pool for a party

Community and public pools

Many city and recreation-department pools offer party rentals outside regular swim hours. They are usually the most affordable option, and lifeguards are often part of the arrangement. The trade-off is rules: outside food, alcohol, music and decorations are commonly restricted, and time slots can be short. Contact the facility directly and ask for its current policies.

Hotels and resorts

Some hotels will let non-guests book a pool deck for a private event, typically with required food and beverage minimums. This works for corporate groups and larger parties, but it can feel more formal and less flexible than a private setting.

Private homes with a pool

Hourly rental sites and individual owners offer backyard pools by the hour. The quality varies enormously, so look carefully at photos, reviews, rules on guest count and noise, and whether the owner is present. Always confirm that the owner holds appropriate insurance for gatherings.

Event estates

An estate that hosts celebrations professionally gives you the pool plus the space around it: a bar, seating, a place for a caterer to work, and rules designed for parties. This is where we sit, and we explain below how it works in practice.

Seven questions to ask before you book any pool

  1. How many guests are allowed, and does that include children? Some places count everyone, and some count only swimmers.
  2. Can we bring our own food and drinks? Venue packages can double the cost of a party.
  3. What time must we finish? Neighbourhood noise rules in residential areas often set an evening cut-off.
  4. Is a lifeguard required, available, or up to us? If children will swim, plan for a responsible adult whose only job is watching the water.
  5. What insurance is required? Many venues ask for one-day event insurance, which is usually inexpensive compared with the venue fee.
  6. What is the cleaning policy and deposit? Get the amounts in writing.
  7. What is the cancellation policy? Know whether the deposit can be refunded or moved.

Planning the party around the water

A pool party works best when the schedule has a rhythm. Start with arrivals and a drink, let guests swim, then shift to food while people dry off and sit. Set up shade and towels before anyone arrives, and keep food away from the pool edge. For evening events, lighting changes everything: a pool that glows after dark turns a casual swim into an atmosphere.

For children, supervision is the rule that matters most. Assign adults in shifts, and keep party games out of the water unless someone is watching the pool the whole time. For adult parties, keep glass away from the deck and decide up front who is responsible for the water.

What it costs at the manor

At The Enchanted Manor in Valley Village, an event for up to 50 guests is $4,200, 50 to 75 guests is $5,400, and 75 to 100 guests is $6,600 (our pricing from October 2026). The fee covers 5 hours plus 2 hours of setup, and extra hours are $300 each. All events must end by 10pm.

You bring your own caterer and your own liquor and beverages, so there is no costly food and beverage package. Extras include cleaning ($300), a refundable security deposit ($250), tables at $8 each, tablecloths at $10 each, a cooler at $20, heaters at $75 each and a microphone rental at $25. Chairs come from an outside rental vendor, and we are glad to share contacts. One-day event insurance naming Georgia Durante and The Enchanted Manor is required, and it averages $66 to $124.

What your guests will find

The grounds cover more than 18,000 sq ft. The centrepiece is a saltwater lagoon-style grotto pool with three waterfalls and no harsh chemicals, a raised Jacuzzi, and nine light colours for the pool and spa. Beside the water you will find a thatched gazebo bar with a refrigerator, a sink and a barbecue, a lava-rock fire pit, and an outdoor shower. Fairy lights run through the trees, and an outdoor fireplace sits on a private patio with plush couches.

Guests tell us the same thing again and again. Kit R. wrote: "The loveliest pool I've ever swum in." Malaya G. said: "My kids didn't want to get out of the pool. They loved the secret room behind the book case." And Mirela R. put it this way: "It is not a back yard but an oasis."

Children's parties are welcome, and we can arrange extras such as clowns, storytime, magicians and face painting on request. We also host birthdays, showers, engagement parties, anniversaries, reunions and other celebrations. For another view of pricing for this style of party, read our guide to pool party house rentals in Los Angeles, and our birthday party venues guide for more on planning.

Who the pool party format works for

A pool party suits more occasions than most people expect. Birthdays are the obvious one, for children and adults alike. But we also see engagement parties, baby and bridal showers, family reunions, anniversaries, memorials and company gatherings, because a pool gives people something to do with their hands and an easy way to drift between conversations.

If you are planning for a larger group, think about zones. Give swimmers a clear area, give diners a covered place to eat, and give quieter guests somewhere to sit by a fire or a fireplace. Zones keep a party of 50 or 75 from feeling crowded, even when everyone is on the property at once.

Common mistakes with pool party rentals

The biggest mistake is booking on photos alone. Always ask what is included on the day, who sets up, and what the cut-off time is. The second is underestimating shade and seating: guests spend most of the party out of the water, so plan places to sit and rest. The third is forgetting towels, sunscreen and a plan for wet children and wet floors. Finally, check what is allowed regarding music, because noise rules at a private home can differ widely from a venue set up for events. At our place we have a house sound system and a wireless microphone, and no DJs.

Parking and getting there

We are on a quiet cul-de-sac at 5235 Goodland Avenue, Valley Village, minutes from the 101 and 405 and easy from Burbank and LAX airports. The cul-de-sac fits 12 to 15 cars and there is open street parking too, but we recommend Uber or Lyft for events, since valet does not work well here.

Ask about your pool party date

Tell us your guest count, the type of celebration and the date you have in mind, and we will tell you plainly whether the manor is a fit. Call or text Georgia at (213) 999-3050, or email stuntlady@me.com. You can browse everything we host on our events page, or make a weekend of it and look at staying at The Inn.
